In a last ditch attempt to hold on to this flannelette crib sheet I cut it up and (very clumsily) turned it into a pair of pj bottoms. Added bonus - watching him find the sheep on the back of his legs.

What Pete Ate
by Maira Kalman
Been meaning to recommend this book for a while. I ordered it off Amazon because the title seemed relevant to our beloved pet. (The incident that sticks in the mind is a chewed lens cap on the day - the same day that the camera was bought! I'm over it now - kind of) It's an A-Z of every weird thing Pete (the dog) has eaten. The illustrations and text are really quirky with lots of asides and interesting characters. My favourite is the chewed up list that Rocky (a friend) keeps in his wallet, of all the times he was insulted his whole life. 'Personally' she says 'I am happy Pete did it.'
N loves it, and I have to say I'm actually pleased to see it being brought towards me!

.
Found this bike at the weekend (Emmaus £50) Swapped the old grips for some swanky new ones and replaced the ripped saddle with a (v. bouncy) moulded one. Bought a black mesh basket for the front too, but have been told it's too embarrassing - we-ll see.
