been thinking....

I've been having some thoughts about my blog, trying to work out what to include, what not to include, how much to write, how much to leave unsaid. I hadn't realised until I actually posted something how much all of these issues would play around. I'd thought that I would make decisions before I started and then 'present' myself to the blogosphere. So I suppose this is the first lesson; don't wait, get started, let it grow, see what happens. This stuff has taught me something very valuable already.

recipe for focaccia

450g (1lb) strong plain white flour
1 level teaspoon of easy-blend dried yeast
300ml (1/2 pint) warm water
olive oil
salt

- mix the flour and yeast (I used about 1/3 wholemeal)
- add the water and 5 tbsp olive oil
- mix to make soft dough
- knead for 5 mins
- place in greased bowl and cover with film
- leave in warm place for an hour or double the size
- knead again, roll out, place on greased baking sheet with greased film over
- leave for 20mins, brush with oil, sprinkle with salt
- bake for 25 mins at 220 C, 425F

It was v. nice

Pink, orange, brown, turquoise?...mmm?

Been struggling with this pink (we're renting so can't change it) and didn't want it to look too twee. Was a bit stuck for inspiration until Sat morning when I found this butterfly (see previous post) had found its way into the room - a palette on a plate!?

Catch-up

1. A new colour scheme for the bedroom?

2. My sister's Whippet, Buddy (experiments in Illustrator)

3. Feeling a bit homesick for London bustle

4. Isaac's patchwork saddle cover (a work in progress)
