A child of a child of the seventies

I sometimes sing nursery rhymes while I change a nappy, but Jon goes to town and sings a seemingly endless repertoire of hits from the seventies, including, amongst others, 'Lily the Pink' and 'The Court of King Caractacus' (think Rolf).

This morning we had another blast from the past with 'Remember You're a Womble'.

(If Nathaniel thinks he's safe from me, as far as that decade's concerned, he hasn't seen the fabric I've been eyeing for his next pair of summer trousers - watch this space! Sorry N.)

I don't use the camera on my phone very much because I thought the quality was a bit rubbish (are the settings right, I wonder), but I often find a few photos taken on 'grab a camera, any camera' occasions, or just strange quiet times that need a click. I last downloaded at the beginning of August so these are all BN (Before Nathaniel) and have a distant, hazy, 'other life' feel to them.

Latest entertainment?

- staring at the ceiling

- and my survival kit: glass of water, cup of tea, banana, apple, recharging laptop, dog-chewed all-stars, lamp with fridge bulb (but still too bright to sleep by, so stuck under bedside), leak catching patchwork quilt (not a description you often see in craft books), and alarm clock (for decorative purposes only). Oh, and a fairly pristine crib, propped up, ironically, by a copy of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.

When it gets to six weeks you know it's time to stop faffing with paper and ink and get someone else to make your birth announcement cards....now, stamps.
