There's nothing like a very gloomy day to force you to set your camera to manual and pretend it's brighter than it is.  It's actually much more interesting too - though it's no accident that N is at Grandma's.  Maybe 2013 is the year for really learning this photography stuff!  In the meantime, I love a bit of iphonography - my instagram.

Lion Cushion

I made something!  Inspired by this lion, I decided to skip the body and stick with a simple circle and fringe cushion.  It was fairly straightforward (the fringe was 10x15cm long strands of wool tied in the middle by another piece of wool then doubled up) though the sewing machine struggled a bit round the ears.  Velvet curtain and ball of wool from (yes, again) Emmaus.

My mum found this book and thought I'd like it. I do!!!

It's got some amazing (ambitious) projects and the styling screams the seventies (it was published in 1977) - it took me right back to being a kid with nothing to do at half-term.  I've not exactly got nothing to do this half term but I might have a go at something.

Weekending
