First impressions for Joe and Isaac and then getting started.

Nappies

Along with using cloth nappies this time round, I'm looking into Elimination Communication (sometimes called Natural Infant Hygiene). It's an idea which aims to encourage a baby's natural inclination to stay dry and respond to it's awareness of relieving itself. Nappies that allow a baby to stay dry break the connection between the feelings and getting wet. Cloth nappies don't, so babies get uncomfortable more quickly and are more likely to make the connection. Having spent years dealing with disposables with Joe and Isaac, and it dragging on and on (with thousands of their nappies still hanging around in landfill), I'm keen to try a different way. I think it'll take some persistence to get used to the cues and the routines but there's a lot of inspiration out there.
Here's some I've found so far...

The EC Store (lots of info, still looking for more local stockists!)

Sew Liberated (a personal experience and a lovely blog)

Rescued!

That'll teach me - what's wrong with teddies anyway?
